My teacher said my paper is good but i need more…and i cant think of a single thing! Any helpp?/

Stop & Shop Muffins compared to Homemade Muffins.

Many people have a hard time deciding on whether to make their own homemade muffins or to have time and buy them at their local grocery store. As your doing your normal grocery shopping at Stop & Shop, you walk by the Bakery. You figure you could pick up some muffins for your average Sunday morning. You can purchase an individual muffin for $1.29 or four muffins for $3.99. Buying the individual muffins means you have a choice of different flavors of muffins, and buying in four pack means you’ll probably have the same flavor. If you where to purchase four individuals different flavor muffins, that would end up costing you $5.16.
Stop & Shop muffins contain a lot of preservatives, and are huge! There are about 20 serving in a Stop & Shop blueberry muffin. One serving is 200 calories, 13 grams of sugar, and 160 grams of sodium. In the Stop & Shop blueberry muffins, there are words that most of us couldn’t even pronounce. How are we to understand or know the meaning? For example; thiamin mononitrat, riboflayin, folic acid, have any clue? Then to top it off, you have the warning sign, “Contains: Wheat, Eggs, Milk, Soy and Nuts.”

When it comes to your own blueberry muffins, there are NO preservatives and you make any size you want. It is hard to measure the calorie and sodium amounts in them, but making them the desire size you want, you have more control on how much you are eating. You know what is going into your special homemade blueberry muffins; there is no need for a label. You have your rudimentary flour, sugar, milk, eggs, butter and fresh blueberries. You know how old or fresh your muffins are, unlike Stop & Shop.
Yes, making your own muffins takes time, work, and “kiss the baker” apron, but in the end it’s well worth it. The muffins are almost half the calories as Stop & Shop’s even if the muffin you were to make is the same size as Stop & Shop. With homemade muffins you can make a lot more for the same price as buying four individual muffins. You can get up to 8-12 or even more muffins from each batch.
When you’re holding that box of four blueberry muffins, think to yourself; “Should I spend four dollars on this? Or should I spend four dollars and get some fresh blueberries?” Your family will know the difference, when they are enjoying the blistering taste of the homemade blueberry muffins.

link your ending back to your introduction so you could say something like:
"in the end it is your choice whether to buy the stop and shop muffins and pay for just 4 when you could pay extra to make as many as you like but it is also based on budget what you can spend and what time you have will you have the time to make your own; plus to make different flavors you need to get different ingrediants again it is about budget. Though it depends what situation you are in.
maybe something like that i don’t know :)

my diet, is it good or bad? and a question…?

Posted on May 29th, 2010 by admin in u pick blueberries | 4 Comments »

i am a 16 year old guy i am 5"9 160 pounds. i am mostly muscle except about 12 pounds of fat i want to lose in the next 3 months. im trying to overall get bigger but also lose the fat. i already have a good workout plan, i just need help on diet plan.i have 2 choices for every meal. can u guys pick the best ones for me, thx.

breakfast(7:00)- (1)a whey protein shake with a banana
(2)1 cup of fiber once cereal with a banana

snack(9:45)- (1) 3 dates(fruit) and a handful of walnuts
(2) an apple
(3) dont eat a snack, and wait till lunch

lunch(11:30)- (1) 1 cup of low fat cottage cheese with blueberries and walunts
(2) turkey sandwhich w/ tomatoes, lettuce, wholewheat bread

snack before workouts(2:00)- (1) 1 cup of low fat cottage cheese with blueberries and walunts
(2) 3 dates(fruit) and walnuts

workouts from 3 to 4;30

dinner(5;30)- (1) whey protein shake with a banana
(2)1 cup of low fat cottage cheese with blueberries and walunts

just alternate between the 2 different choices for meals every day. It would be pretty boring to have the same lunch every day for months! ANd your dinner is puny. It’s basically the same as your breakfast! Don’t worry so much about your weight. Have a steak every once in a while, or some fish. Fish is really healthy, and unless you’re a vegetarian, I don’t see why you shouldn’t have some.

Is this essay comparing the nomadic society and the agricultural revolution good for a 7th grader?

Posted on May 29th, 2010 by admin in agricultural | 1 Comment »

Between the time of the nomadic society to the agricultural revolution, society made a significant technological transition. The lives of the two societies revolved around their need for food. The weather conditions affected their ability to get food, and often the weather was hot and desiccated. When the nomadic inhabitants discovered the agricultural way of life, they knew they could have more offspring, because they were confident there would be enough food to feed their families. Although this was not a smooth transition from the nomadic .way of life to an agricultural existence, history would prove the scale of differences is closer than they know. Additionally, that small difference is what they need to help each other to survive.
To be an agricultural member means you live in one place and you uphold yourself by growing your own food and for meat growing your own livestock. The nomads traveled with their food and had no stable residence in one place for thousands of years. Where they hunted and gathered depended on the nature of weather in specific areas. Some animals or plants only like warmer or colder weather so they had to adjust where they went according to that. Both societies felt a strong abhor for each other, but had a need for each other’s support.
The nomadic civilization originated in the Middle East. They lived in this manner for thousands of years. This was including Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iran, and Iraq. The men hunted for their food and the women gathered natural things like vegetables, plants, herbs, and fruit. The agricultural society obtained their food by growing it themselves from animals to berries. The nomads felt that the agricultural society was pampered and had to do little work, but this can easily be proved as something fallacious.
To be part of the agricultural society required diligence and urgency. Their strong work ethics proved this factual. They ran their farms, managed their crops, and took care of their house, and many children. All of these things were important for our interminable need for food. Nomads were often on the move and the agricultural society did not feel this was correct and their way to feed their families was more productive. Neither nomads nor the agricultural revolution liked each other but most of their accusations were maliciously false.
The agricultural revolution grew their food and lived in one place they felt this practice was best and did not like the way of roving with your food source. Without thinking, we impose our ideas as being right on other people, the nomads and agricultural revolution did just that. Their lives were hard worked. They felt this conflict towards each other but without them, the whole trading industry would crash.
As a human population, they were pretty much the same. They both had a need for each other in business. The two cultures traded items and received gifts for help. They both have a struggle for their natural necessities of life. Moreover, both have the same ideas for survival. The agricultural populace and the nomadic society needed to come to an agreement that without each other their existence is devastated.
if there is anything changeable let me know
sry i could not fit that in before

My first thought is that this essay uses vocabulary not normally used in a 7th grade essay. Many words would not be used by people much older, yet there are no sources cited. I am basing my impression on having taught 6th-8th grade history for over 30 years.

You may want to reconsider some of the words used especially if they are not familar ones to you. On the other hand, this may be your own writing style and your teacher would recognize this and applaud you for your effort.

Can you taste the difference between organic and non organic food?

Posted on May 29th, 2010 by admin in organic | 4 Comments »

I had to do a science fair project on if you can tell the difference in taste between organic and non organic cookies. People could taste the difference between the Oreos and Newman O’s so I was wondering if people have tasted the difference in other foods. Please don’t tell me about how you think organic food is a scam. Thanks!

organic substances contain carbon

Inorganic food encompasses everything that organic food is not.

Is it okay to leave frozen blueberries out for a day?

Posted on May 29th, 2010 by admin in blueberries | 3 Comments »

I like to have blueberries in the morning and I buy my blueberries frozen. Usually I just leave them in the fridge overnight but even though they’re not frozen, I still don’t like eating them cold. (And I don’t like microwaving)
Would it be safe to just leave the frozen blueberries on the counter overnight?

yes ~ I do it every night ~ I feel the same way you do about cold blueberries!

When playing the lottery, Is it best to pick your own numbers or let the computer choose them?

Posted on May 29th, 2010 by admin in pick your own | 3 Comments »

I never pick my own numbers and I only play the lottery when the jackpot is at its highest. anyways, I just want to make sure I am not hitting the automatic lose button by letting the computer do it.

The Lottery would have nothing to gain by somehow picking losing numbers for you.
The jackpot is always given away and even when it isn’t won it is rolled over.

I personally only play during rollovers.
and when i do I let the computer pick my numbers.
If I kept regular numbers I would feel pressured to play every week in case my numbers came up when i hadn’t played.

Needless to say this would be devastating so to aavoid this problem I randomize my numbers.

Where to go apple picking near Manhattan?

Posted on May 29th, 2010 by admin in apple picking | 3 Comments »

Are there any good places for apple picking less than two hours from Manhattan? Preferably going north into Westchester or Connecticut.

Hurd’s Farm near New Paltz — Ulster County — about One Hour 45 Minutes from Manhattan. I know of no places in Westchester or CT.

Also if you play golf, you can do that and get apples to at Apple Greens Golf Course in Highland

Is John Deere still head and shoulders above the competition in quality and performance?

Posted on May 29th, 2010 by admin in john deere | 4 Comments »

I have just purchased a sears craftsman mts 5500. I compared it against a couple of different John Deere mowers. I believe that the competitors have caught up with JD. Yet the JD’s are still more expensive. I am wondering if people spending extra money for actual quality, perceived quality, or just simply the JD paint?

Just green paint, a brand name and higher prices. My Bolens mower I got from Lowes has the same engine as the John Deere they sell. While some of the mulching decks and other accessories add to the price, JD is no better than any of the others, when I used to sell mowers, JD was just getting into mass residential use (starting with Sears). I had more service calls on the JD mowers, and since I had to do some of the assembly, will tell you that there is not a lot of difference overall. Buy the mower you like, with the features you want, and go for the best price. The high end machines just cost more money and more to maintain.

Why was the northern spread of agriculture into Europe slow from the area of first domestication?

Posted on May 29th, 2010 by admin in agriculture | 2 Comments »

What is so different about the northern environment that affected the lateness of the spread of agriculture?

Agriculture spread north about as soon as climate for agriculture allowed fairly reliable crop growing. This was of course a long time after the glaciers retreated.
